At just 18 years old and still in high school, Crystal was unexpectedly pregnant with her first child. She decided that the only option was to just get her GED, and she expected that she would be stuck with a lifetime of missed opportunities to show the world the person inside.
When Crystal heard about CLIMB Wyoming, she decided to apply for the program so she could make something of herself and also allow her kids to be proud of her. Thanks to the weekly parenting classes, Crystal is now able to work on becoming a stronger mother and finds that she is much better equipped to take care of them than ever before. She now has the opportunity to look forward to something: continuing a strong career in the medical field. Crystal finally feels like she has a future, as both a parent and a person.
“I really hope that now my kids will be proud of me and look up to me,” Crystal said. “I want them to be able to say that I am somebody.”
Thank you Rajeev, Jeffrey, Erik, Akiko, Margo (2 weeks!), Bill and Colleen, Mark and Lynn (2 weeks!), Howard, Luke and Ani, Alice and Brad (2 weeks!), Mike and Suzanne, Dwayne and Terese, and Shelly – you have all really made a difference for Crystal and her family!
